The X-Golf network raised more than $21,000 for Starlight Children’s Foundation last year, and X-Golf North Lakes is now fundraising for the charity again.

X-Golf North Lakes took part in X-Golf’s Starlight fundraisers in 2024 and 2025. This year the venue is giving its support through X-Golf for Good, a national campaign that runs from 5 October to 15 November 2026. Starlight works to give seriously ill children, including those in hospital, some happier moments during tough stretches. The charity, a not-for-profit founded in 1982, also supports their families. Last year’s national goal was $33,500, which X-Golf said would fund five Starlight Wishes.
X-Golf for Good is not a single-charity drive. Each venue picks a cause close to home, and 33 venues are taking part across the country. In Queensland, North Lakes shares its choice with South Bank, Townsville and Cairns. Ashmore is backing Hummingbird House, Enoggera is raising money for Muscular Dystrophy Queensland, and Mackay and Toowoomba have chosen Cancer Council Queensland.

Steve Goodluck, X-Golf’s national franchise support manager, said each venue has a team that understands its own community. He described the campaign as a natural extension of the brand’s aim of bringing people together.
Think you need to be a low handicapper to join in? You do not. Entry to the X-Golf for Good tournament is free, and it runs until 15 November. The national prize pool is $1,500, but most of it sits in one prize, with $1,000 going to the first hole-in-one recorded. Top scores win X-Golf merchandise.

Players have three ways in. One is the Mini Game Blitz, played online. Another is a hole-in-one and nearest-the-pin challenge, which asks for a $5 donation for three shots at a par 3. The third was the Event Night Scramble, which ran from 26 to 30 October for teams of three or four on a nine-hole course. Donations are simple too. People can scan the QR code in venue, ask staff to add a donation at the counter, or give online, which is open to anyone in Australia.
A national Community Night was set for 29 October, with every venue due to welcome its charity partner and local community. A chips promotion that sent $2 from every serve to local charities ran from 19 to 25 October. Both are now behind us.
Still open are the tournament and the national silent auction. The auction is online and covers the final two weeks of the campaign. Items listed include a private Bali getaway, six bottles of Hawthorn Estate wine and a round for three players at The National Golf Club in Victoria. Each venue lines up its own item, and what it raises counts toward that venue’s total.
Money raised through North Lakes is meant for Starlight. Every dollar a venue raises goes to its own nominated cause and also counts toward the national total. X-Golf says donations are held centrally and paid to each venue’s chosen charity once the six weeks end. By X-Golf’s update on 4 November, the tally across all venues had reached $24,000.
For North Lakes golfers, the choice comes down to a few simple moves before 15 November: book a round, add a donation, or place a bid.
