Northbound motorists using the Bruce Highway at North Lakes will need to take a different exit during overnight roadworks beginning Sunday 18 October 2026, with the Anzac Avenue offramp set to close for five nights each week over a period of up to two weeks.

The closure will affect Exit 133 between 10pm and 5am from Sunday to Thursday, with the schedule dependent on weather and site conditions. The Transport and Main Roads Department (TMR) has confirmed that the ramp will remain open outside these hours.
Detour Via Boundary Road
Drivers travelling north on the Bruce Highway who need to reach Anzac Avenue will be directed to Boundary Road via Exit 138 while the offramp is closed. A signed detour will be in place to guide motorists along the alternative route during the affected hours.
The northbound Anzac Avenue exit will reopen outside the scheduled overnight work periods. Motorists travelling south on the Bruce Highway will still be able to exit onto Anzac Avenue as usual. Traffic already using Anzac Avenue will also remain unaffected by the works.
Roadworks And Possible Disruptions
The overnight closures will allow crews to carry out several construction activities at the offramp, including asphalt laying, earthworks, and guardrail installation.
TMR has warned that the work may generate noise from machinery used to lay and compact asphalt, as well as equipment involved in installing guardrail posts. Temporary odours from heated asphalt may also occur during construction.
Although the closures are scheduled across two consecutive weeks, the actual duration will depend on weather and conditions at the worksite.
