The Marketplace Area

The Marketplace Area, near Coles, will host different food tastings and product samplings, plus live music to keep everyone upbeat and lively. Here are the stores that will give out their free samples and demos in The Marketplace area.

Soul Origin Tasting

Soul Origin puts their best selections forward with a tasting event featuring their gourmet salad selection, sandwiches, and baguettes. Soul Origin has a well-deserved reputation for serving some of the freshest foods and great coffee.

Drop by their store anytime between 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on both for the free samples, plus their deliciously hot, free coffee.

Willows Quality Meat

Demos and tastings by Wild West Smokers, makers of reverse-flow offset smokers in Australia, will be hosted by the Willows Quality Meat, a family-owned business that delivers premium quality, fresh meat.

Their sampling and demos will be held on Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The sampling and tastings will be held at the Willows Quality Meats’ store, but the live demos will be held outside Westfield, near Australia Post.

Degani Cafe

Degani Cafe will also give free samples on Saturday, between 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Degani is widely acknowledged as the leader of Melbourne’s burgeoning coffee market back in the ‘90s. They expanded across the country and are now known for being one of the best coffees in Australia. Degani has over 80 cafes, restaurants, and kiosks up to date.

Coffee Hit

There are lots of excellent coffee choices at the Foodie Festival. The Coffee Hit, one of Australia’s best caffeine places, will launch their new range of Turmeric, Matcha, and Beetroot Lattes on both days of the event. There will be samplings and live demos in the store’s roasting room.

Saturday demos will be held at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., whilst the Sunday demo will only be held at 11:30 a.m.

31 Degrees

31 Degrees will be serving up their s’mores at their exclusive pop up store on Saturday, at 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Exquisite chocolates, handmade and tailored to special occasions, are the products of 31 Degrees.

Santoshi Spice

Santoshi Spice Market will host free cooking demos, just outside their store on both days at 11:00 a.m. They will show different demos on how to make most of their menus.

Santoshi is a family-owned grocer that provides Indian and Asian groceries, arts and crafts, cookware, and herbals. Their fast food section serves authentic cooked style curries and snacks.

Childminding

Purchasing at two or more Fresh Food Specialty Stores in the Marketplace will entitle a customer to one hour of free childminding at Stay N Play. The participating stores can be viewed here.

Only children 3 years old and above are accepted at Stay N Play. Simply present your receipts to avail the promo. Alternatively, you can pay $5 per child to use this service.

Stay N Play is located outside of ALDI and operates from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Promo runs until September.

The Laneway Area

This area near the event cinemas will be filled with a variety of programs. Donut King’s “Donut Wall” is one of the event highlights. Here are the promotions in the Laneway area.

DJ Cut & Cook

DJ Cut & Cook, the one-man party mashup machine that is known locally and internationally, will be there. He will show live demos on how to cook delicious treats while enjoying the beats on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Schnitz

Schnitz will be bringing something hot for both days of the Foodie Festival. From 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Chili Crumb Sticks will be available in store just for this event.

Schnitz is known in serving schnitzel from the age-old culinary tradition to the modern-day tastebuds. There are over 60 restaurants across Australia that serve fresh schnitzel everyday.

Beach House Eating Competition

Beach House is one of North Lakes’ favourites for takeaway BBQs, steaks, and seafoods. Their smoky BBQ chicken wings is one of their tastiest, most popular dishes.

On Saturday at 12:00 p.m., Beach House will be hosting a 1 kilogram Wing Eating Challenge. The fastest person to eat up chicken will receive a $100 Beach House Gift Card.

There is an entry fee of $10. Registration only limits 50 participants. The proceeds of the eating competition will benefit the Children’s Hospital.

Donut Wall

Donut King’s Donut Wall will be there on Sunday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A simple photo in front of the Donut Wall will give everyone the chance to win a $250 Westfield Gift Card.
