Queensland-based hospitality operator Comiskey Group has secured approval for the development, which will be anchored by a nine-storey hotel with 144 rooms and an approximately 2,000-square-metre signature hospitality venue. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2027, according to the developer.
Hotel and Hospitality at the Centre

The proposed hotel is designed around an urban resort concept, with dining and leisure facilities planned alongside the accommodation. The wider precinct will include premium and casual dining, retail businesses, wellness operators, and family entertainment facilities. Landscaped public spaces will also form part of the plans, bringing these proposed uses together within the development.

Bureau Proberts designed the precinct, which the developer has compared with established Brisbane lifestyle destinations including James Street in Fortitude Valley, Gasworks in Newstead and West Village in West End.
The concept is intended to move beyond a conventional shopping centre format by combining accommodation, hospitality, shopping, and leisure facilities in one development.
Developer Outlines the Vision

Comiskey Group director Rob Comiskey said the approval marked an important milestone for the project. He said the precinct would offer a combination of experiences not currently available at a comparable scale in the area.
Mr Comiskey explained that the development was intended to move beyond the traditional shopping centre format, allowing people to spend time across different activities, including dining, socialising, entertainment, exercise and hotel stays.
City of Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery said the investment reflected confidence in the region’s visitor economy and its opportunities for hotel and hospitality development. Cr Flannery said the city was attracting interest in tourism and accommodation, describing the project as a significant commitment to the region.

The proposed development will combine a five-star hotel, a signature hospitality venue, dining, retail, wellness facilities, family entertainment, and landscaped public spaces.
